Nico is #2. High school football is intense. They lost but I thought he did okay. Don’t ask me how anyone else did, though because I was only watching my kid. Yes, I am that mom. The one that doesn’t even really know the score, just if we are winning or losing and is only alerted to the field if the crowd goes wild if Nico is not on the field. If he’s on the field, I still don’t know what happened unless he’s in the middle of it. My dad is very patient when I ask, “Wait. What just happened?”
Demi’s mom, Julie, took Belle and Demi for a day of mani/pedis and then asked if it was okay to take them to dinner. The boys and Gia were with Leo at his mom’s so Julie invited me to dinner, too. It was a great evening spent getting to talk semi-uninterrupted. Thanks again, Julie!
This picture makes me smile. They are usually aggravating the heck out of each other so to see them helping each other warms my heart. Glad I had the camera there and snapped it before they knew what I was doing.
It was the hottest day since the kids went back to school but that didn’t stop Gia and me from doing one of our favorite things. We like to go to Cosley Zoo (I use that term loosely since it is really more farm animals than zoo animals). It’s always been one of my favorite things to do with my kids and Gia’s squeals with delight could be heard loud and clear as we walked in.
This is my favorite picture from this week because it made me laugh out loud. I was deep in thought writing something and Gia was playing quietly with her dolls. All of a sudden, I heard, “Hello,” in a voice that sounded like Squiggy from Laverne and Shirley when he would walk through their door. This stool is right next to where I was working and she had climbed up there by herself. It was a definitely “had to be there” moment but cracked me up all the same.

Definitely so that when they are fighting like cats and dogs, I can look admiringly at it and think, remember when…

Confession: I was a cheerleader for 15 years and I still don’t know what’s going on in the game!

I was just going to say that!!! So glad that it worked!!! And thanks for hte sweet words.
The thing about the zoo is that the wild animals, for once, are on the other side of the fence/bars/glass, and I don’t have to feed them.
Otherwise, a day at the zoo kind of feels like a day at home with my three animals!
Love this post.
