Before I delight you in the upcoming chaos, I found my old posts. They were there the whole time and in my computer ineptness (don’t know if that is a word but it fits here) couldn’t find them. As I get used to this new site, two things are true. One, switching to Word Press gives me the security of knowing that I own all my own content and it feels good (and a little scary) to learn new things. Two, when making the switch it is so important to do it with someone that knows what they are doing so I highly recommend Other Half Media that you can find at Ashley’s site: www.myfrontporchswing.com or Shell’s site: www.thingsicantsay.com. I was a nutcase leading up to the switch, in the middle of the switch and after and they were patient and so very helpful.
I will be spending the next two days getting ready for an away baseball tournament. I don’t need to tell you guys how hard it is to get ready to go away with four kids. You probably have read older posts on it. I will say that I think it is ridiculous that a baseball tournament is starting at 2 on a Friday afternoon. Doesn’t anyone that runs these things work?? I had a few appointments scheduled that I now have to cancel. That makes me crazy because I try to be on top of things and organized and life keeps throwing me curve balls.
I try not to have any expectations about vacations but:
I am really looking forward to NO CAMPS!!
I am looking forward to me giving Leo a break to golf or fish and then him giving me a break to sit by the pool and read.
I am looking forward to seeing the excitement in my kids eyes as they experience the water park.
I am looking forward to walking around in the downtown area and buying fudge and popcorn.
I am looking forward to my kids asking for something and the answer being, “Yes!” because we are on vacation.
I am looking forward to seeing my sisters and my parents and not having to hang up because one of our kids needs us.
I am looking forward to spending time with Leo outside of a gym or baseball field (after the tournament).
I am looking forward to having so much material to blog about when I get back…the good…the bad…and the ugly.
Saying I am looking forward to the upcoming chaos is pretty glass half full, isn’t it? Maybe I shouldn’t expect too much.
Anyone else out there going on vacation and looking forward to something specific?

Can’t wait to read about the trips! I had to laugh when you wrote that life is throwing you curve balls in a post about a baseball tournament. Hee Hee. ..

I wish I could say I meant to do that but it just happened.
We both know I’ll have tons to write about after.
So glad to hear that you found your missing work.

Ugg packing 4 kids . . . enough said!
A vacation sounds like so much fun!!!! Can’t wait to read about it. Hope you enjoy yourself and your family time

Thanks, Erin! I’m still procrastinating packing! It’s very overwhelming. I’m going to try and live without my computer for a few days. It’s going to be tough.
Enjoy your time away this weekend. I know you need it!

Thanks! Yes, you do know and yes, I do.
Fudge and popcorn actually have a higher nutritional value when you’re on vacation. Did you know that?
By far the highlight of our trips is finding that gem of a mom-and-pops pizza joint. We.will.find.it. It’s what dreams are made of. The Village Idiot, in Columbia, S.C. A pizza so big in Charleston, S.C., that they had to give us a second table. Iannucci’s, in Asheville, N.C. …
Take notes this weekend – I expect no fewer than 17 blog ideas out of this puppy. Here’s hoping none of them involve middle-of-the-night fire alarms at the hotel, any tales in which “rodent” and “dinner” appear in the same sentence, and any type of uniform malfunction on the baseball diamond.

Unfortunately didn’t make it to the fudge or popcorn shops. I had a very unruly toddler. I saw an enormous amount of our condo, though. Love the idea of finding mom and pop shops and restaurants. Your las paragraph made me laugh and guess what??? Only 1 post out of it. After the 5th post of Gia throwing a fit or Nico aggravating everyone, I figured the readers would get bored.
This just proves even the blogger takes a vacation from her craft.
And don’t you know? Fudge is the perfect elixir for the unruly toddler. Every dad knows this.

I do know that but the fear of the sugar crash prevented me from getting there.
You can never fear the sugar crash. That’s when dad hands the kids back to mom, and goes fishing.

I totally fear the sugar crash for that reason…he’ll hand them off to me and go fishing!
I am very happy I switched to wordpress what seems like forever ago I unfortuantely lost all the content on my previous blog from my computer crashing right in the middle of the transfer.
No vacation for me yet although I will be moving to North Carolina in the next few weeks so I guess that could be considered one as we get to know our new community. But I am looking forward to my daughter’s Make a Wish trip to Disney World in December, memories for a lifetime!
Have a great time and enjoy any break you can get.
What happened to you would have caused me a breakdown. What are the odds of your computer crashing in the middle? Good luck on your move and yes, Disney is memories of a lifetime!
Some pretty awesome stuff to look forward to, indeed!

It didn’t turn out quite like I had hoped but was good nonetheless.
